Job Description & Requirements

This position is a team-based role with Zion Guide Hub.  It is available both full-time and part-time with project-based pay as well as hourly scheduled shifts. This position is working in the field and is based out of our shop location in Springdale, UT, and remote in Bryce Canyon and Grand Staircase-Escalante.

This role will involve; facilitating and guiding our offered activities, participating within the business as a team member, and sharing the mission of the business.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

  • Participating in a guide training program, implemented at the beginning of the season

    • Areas of training include:

      • Guest management

      • Vehicle and property maintenance and cleaning

      • In-field safety

      • Emergency response process

      • De-escalation training

      • Activity-specific technical skills

      • Company ethos sharing

  • Filling out and preparing any necessary documents or materials the business may need for reporting purposes.

  • Oversee personal progression for leveling up with activities (this will also be internally tracked/managed).

  • Be certified in the necessary safety requirements based on guide level.

  • Fulfill project (activity) requirements detailed in the Guide Employee Agreement.

  • Commit to running all offerings available based on your specified guide level.

  • Clean and organize all equipment and resources used for activity after each use and/or as needed.

  • Keep the shop, property, and keep shared equipment organized and in clean working order.

  • Work in the field as a leader.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of providing top-notch customer service

  • Current WFR or WFA with CPR

  • 21+ years old

  • A friendly and welcoming personality

  • A self-starter that consistently delivers an outstanding, personalized guided and customer experience

  • Meticulous attention to detail and a strong communicator

  • Eagerness to learn and be a part of the guiding community

  • Willingness to train and follow company policy

  • Dedication to public lands and their conservation

  • Relaxed but highly-professional demeanor and behaviors

  • Ability and willingness to use POS system(s)
