We are seeking Trail Construction and Natural Resource Specialists to join our team!

If you love the outdoors, conservation, and are looking for a challenging, exciting and fun place to work with opportunities to travel, look no further!

This is a field position for someone who loves getting their hands dirty and creating with the help of mother nature. This position will see many different natural resource projects, from trail building to stream restoration to forest stand improvement and everything between.

Responsibilities:

-          Use many different skills to construct natural resource projects. Everything from awesome bike and hike trail to stream restoration projects.

-          Interface professionally with project managers, inspectors, contractors, architects, engineers, city and county officials, and clients

-          Maintain high standards of workmanship and quality that adhere to original plans and specifications.

-          Perform Work in the field. And problem solving.

-          Be willing to travel

-          Coordinate and communicate daily field operational objectives, timelines, and goals.

-          Read construction documents to determine construction requirements or to plan procedures.

-          Record and maintain information and produce reports such as production, project logs, status, and other operational data.

-          Uphold the safety of a job site by actively walking the site, participating in safety meetings and safety planning.

 

 

Qualifications:

-          Previous experience in construction, scientific or other related fields

-          Strong leadership qualities

-          Strong communication skills

-          Deadline and detail-oriented

-          General Computer skills (MS Office, Google drive)

-          Gmail

-          Valid Driver's License Required

-          Must be 18 years of age

 

Preferred Skills:

-          Grading and Heavy Machine Operation

-          Concrete

-          Asphalt

-          Carpentry

-          GIS

-          Surveying

-          Blue print reading mechanical skills

 

 

Description

 

Black Diamond Designs Inc Is a growing general contracting firm that focuses on natural resources and environmental construction. We design and build projects in the southeast. We are looking for someone that is a self-starter and enjoys autonomy as well as traveling and getting their hands dirty. The ideal candidate will have knowledge on many different aspects of construction and be capable of self-performing as well as leading in house teams and subcontractors. We have a high paced work environment but are very family oriented and are easy to work with for scheduling. This job requires traveling up to 100% of the work week.

 

We work 4-10 hour days and are off for major holidays. 

 

Housing is provided in the form of small group housing at air bnb

Most of the work is in NC but 2024 we have a few out of state projects: SC, VA, TN
