Job Summary:

The Director of Information Technology will manage and direct Far Bank’s Information Technology (IT) operations, ensuring the department provides efficient and effective technical support services.

This key role is responsible for Far Bank Enterprise’s information systems. Knowledge of technology and business is required to work effectively with our customer base, who are not always able to clearly explain their technical requirements. The Director of IT should fully understand the business requirements and collaborate with customers to design and deliver solutions that support the business requirements, fit into the existing technical landscape, and are within budget. 

 This is a hands-on position, and the Director should enjoy rolling up their sleeves and getting into the details. It is a good opportunity to work closely with the technical team and to engage with the business owners on value-driven solutions.

In this role the person will be responsible for working with the Business Analyst and translating business requirements into the proper technical solution. This role should also remain aware of new technologies, and ensure Far Bank is both maximizing their current investment and identifying where additional investments should be made to better support current and future business objectives.

 Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Builds and mentors the IT team
  • Schedules, organizes, and assigns projects to members of the IT team
  • Conducts formal and informal performance evaluations that are timely and constructive

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Define the technology needed to advance Far Bank’s strategic goals within a 2-3 year horizon and use this to guide its investment strategy
  • Leads development and implementation processes for the organization's IT systems and department
  • Database and data management support on D365 and MS SQL databases
  • Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss
  • Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT environment
  • Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs
  • Oversees security of systems, networks, and enterprise information
  • Facilitates IT security audits or investigations
  • Develops and maintains relationships with external IT vendors and service providers
  • Coordinates multisite IT systems via enterprise resource planning (ERP)
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • Internal Applications: C# Blazor, .NET Core, Python, HTML Razor
  • Web Applications: Shopify Suite, JavaScript, Docker
  • Database & Analytics: Azure Synapse Suite, Data Lake, Power BI, SQL Server
  • Servers & User: M365 Suite, Azure Active Directory, on Premise Hyper-V Clusters and bare metal servers

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 implementation and administration (preferred)
  • Experience with ERP implementation and administration
  • Experience implementing and administering Cloud base solutions and technologies
  • Experience in supporting a manufacturing environment from an IT perspective
  • Experience in connecting and integrating data sources and business systems
  • Strong experience with SQL, data normalization and modeling (preferred)
  • At least ten years of experience managing an IT department
