About us
Six Moon Designs is a small outdoor gear company based in Beaverton, Oregon. We design ultralight shelters, packs, and accessories used by backpackers who rely on their gear in real conditions.
We are a small team. Everyone contributes across multiple areas, and the work you do shows up directly in the experience our customers have with our brand.
The role
We are hiring a Customer Service and Brand Support Associate. This role is the front line of how our customers experience Six Moon Designs. You will handle direct customer interactions, support our brand presence online and in person, and help build relationships with the trail community we exist to serve.
This is not a behind-the-scenes role. You will be talking with customers daily, fitting packs in our showroom, attending trail events, and representing the brand at industry gatherings like PCT Days. We are also actively working toward opening more regular store hours in our Beaverton showroom, so the in-person customer side of this role is growing.
What you will do
Customer support
- Provide customer service via phone, email, and live chat
- Process returns and RMAs
- Assist with basic gear repairs
- Provide in-person pack fittings to walk-in customers
Brand and content
- Maintain our social media presence across platforms
- Write and publish newsletters and blog posts
- Coordinate with our ambassadors and brand partners
- Travel to trail shows and community events a few times each year
What we are looking for
Required
- Strong customer service skills with experience handling direct customer interactions
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Comfortable working in a small, fast-moving environment
- Backpacking or other meaningful outdoor experience
- Willing to take on both customer-facing work and hands-on physical tasks
- Able to work full-time in person in Beaverton, Oregon
Strongly preferred
- Outdoor industry retail or customer service experience
- Familiarity with social media content creation
- Experience with newsletter or blog writing
- Shopify or other e-commerce platform experience
- Connections to the ultralight backpacking or thru-hiking community
- Photography or visual content skills

Location

Compensation
Starting at $46,000, commensurate with experience. Room to grow as the role develops.
