The Position: Grassroots Marketing Coordinator
The Black Diamond Marketing Department provides design, editorial, photographic, video, e-media, promotional planning and production resources to develop, maintain and evolve our global brand and company.
Grassroots marketing is the bedrock of Black Diamond’s marketing efforts and has much to do with our brand strength today. As the driver of our North American grassroots marketing efforts, the Grassroots Marketing Coordinator is entrusted with managing our teams of North American climbers and skiers, innovating with our consumer events program, documenting and promoting athlete events achievements in the Black Diamond Journal and making sure Black Diamond stays in touch with the grassroots spirit that has gotten us this far. As a member of the Marketing team and based in Salt Lake City, the Grassroots Marketing Coordinator will also serve as an integrated part of our comprehensive and global marketing program.
Education: Required: Associates Degree
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree
Work experience:
Required: Previous experience in event and sponsorship management, or 2 years experience in retail, wholesale sales or customer service, specifically in climbing and backcountry ski equipment industry.
Alternative qualifications: An additional 2 years experience in retail, wholesale sales or customer service in climbing and backcountry ski equipment (4 years total) may substitute for college degree.
SKILLS AND GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Totally entrenched in the sports and cultures of climbing and skiing. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are mandatory. Customer service experience and high level of climbing/skiing gear knowledge are mandatory. Strong organizational, time management, account management, and computer skills are mandatory (spreadsheets, word processing, Internet). Must be articulate, detail oriented, and project the appropriate company image.
