The Position: Bike Shop Sales Associate
Shop Associate is responsible for assisting in day-day operation of the bicycle shop, ensuring shop appearance remains presentable and customers are quickly and thoroughly taken care of. Shop Associate will work primarily in bike shop, but may be asked to work outreach events. Work will be performed both during the week and weekends, with the majority of the work being during the weekend. Duties and Responsibilities: - Contribute in multiple roles including outreach, sales & repairs
- Assist at outreach events (5Ks, Bike Races, Health Fairs, etc.) to promote eBikes and GoodTurn Cycles
- Engage with customers to ensure questions are thoroughly answered
- Answer phone calls and assist customers, or leave detailed message for other associate to follow up with customer
- Maintain high level sales ability
- Maintain warranty policies and procedures for retail bikes
- Provide exemplary customer service including the handling of customer complaints if/when they arise
- Promote open communication between sales, non-profit and service departments
- Maintain a fun and positive environment for customers and employees
- Provide an atmosphere with a high degree of cleanliness and organization throughout the store
- Check general work email and respond at the beginning and end of every shift
- Clearly communicate problems to Shop Manager, if/when they arise
- Maintain open dialogue with Shop Manager on potential shop improvements
- Work Weekends
- Education/Experience:
- General understanding of basic bicycle mechanics
- Cycling enthusiast - PLUS
- Retail experience – PLUS
