Job Description & Requirements

We are looking for a person in our apparel and accessories departments to fill a full time position as a Merchandiser, Assistant Buyer, Sales Associate and Cashier at a busy retail Sporting Goods store in Lincoln, NH.  A merchandiser with a keen eye for detail; a passionate assistant buyer who is confident, highly organized and an excellent communicator; a retail sales associate that helps customers while they shop, answers questions and assists in daily store operations; and a cashier who has good time management skills and is customer satisfaction-oriented. 

The successful candidate should have previous experience in the merchandising and/or retail industry, be confident, highly organized and an excellent communicator.  Other qualifications we would be looking for are:

·         Detail oriented

·         Excellent interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills

·         Ability to multi-task and perform under pressure

·         Ability to resolve customer issues, guide them and provide relevant information

·         Previous experience in the merchandising or retail industry

·         Customer satisfaction oriented

·         Basic knowledge of POS systems a plus

·         Strong communication and time management skills

·         Work experience as a retail cashier or in a similar roll in sales

The responsibilities of the position would include, but are not limited to:

·         Assisting the buyer with the selection of the right product mix

·         Ensuring products are purchased at the right time, to specification and at a good price

·         Research new suppliers and making recommendations to the buyer

·         Planning, monitoring, and maintaining suitable inventory levels

·         Cross-sell products and introduce new ones

·         Scan goods and ensure pricing is accurate

·         Greet customers when entering and leaving the store

·         Maintain clean and tidy checkout areas

·         Handle merchandise returns and exchanges

This position is full time and requires working weekends.
