Job Description & Requirements

We are looking for an individual to join our International Shipping and Logistics team. This person will help coordinate sales orders, prepare them for shipment, and communicate with customers about their shipments as well as help to coordinate and receive inbound international shipments. 

Import:

·       Ability to review and approve/or have changes made to 7501

·       Proper filing in the Pivot System of every 7501 and corresponding import documents (Commercial Invoices/Packing Lists/AWB/BOL/Etc.)

·       Review HTS classifications and country of origins for special provisions and allowances and subsequently utilize those allowances when appropriate

·       Properly quote and compare rates for shipments between multiple forwarders and parcel carriers. 

·       Arrange shipments with forwarders/parcel companies/and vendors based on quotes, transit times, and needs

·       Consolidate vendor orders when appropriate to maximize shipping efficiency

·       Help to maintain a database of products/HTS codes/country of origins/import duty rates

·       Identify delays in shipments and address with carriers to minimize the effects of those delays

·       Review shipment costs for accuracy and approval or dispute

·       Understand Incoterms and their effects on shipment costs and ownership

·       Understand the difference between actual weight and volume weight and how those figures are achieved

·       Calculate landed costs as needed

·       Ability to communicate the movements and/or delays of shipments and products with appropriate team members

·       Identify cost savings opportunities in logistics and/or negotiate rates with forwarders and carriers

      Export:

·       Invoice and ship distributor orders

·       Properly create a Commercial Invoice and Packing List with accurate information and incoterms for exports

·       Work with Forwarders to arrange pick up, export, and EEI filings on distributor orders

·       Communicate/provide necessary information to distributors on shipments

·       Retrieve proper proof of export documents for distributor orders

·       File all necessary export documentation in Pivot filing system

Requirements:

·       Relevant industry experience

·       Supply chain management, customs requirements and a working knowledge of HTS Codes

·       Excellent communication and time management skills

·       Detail oriented, organized and self-motivated individual

·       Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite products – Excel, Word and Outlook

·       Excellent knowledge of shipping regulations

·       Foreign language skills are a plus

·       Ability to lift and move large and heavy objects – 50lbs to 75lbs
