The Retail Operations Territory Manager plays a critical role in the field overseeing day-to-day Yellowstone Forever Park Store operations in his/her assigned territory, including capturing, tracking, and relaying key performance indicators (KPIs) and overseeing related systems, working to provide the highest quality visitor experience possible. Closely coordinating with senior retail staff, the Retail Operations Territory Manager also responsible for executing the retail merchandising, marketing, and communication plans in Park Stores located in his/her territory and proactively looking for ways to enhance visitor experience and developing recommendations to senior retail staff in the process. The Territory Manager also assists in managing the selection, training, and development of Park Store Leads and Park Store Associates. Success in this position requires excellent supervisory skills and customer engagement, experience with capturing and analyzing KPIs and managing core operational systems, an unrelenting pursuit of excellence, and a drive for continual growth and improvement.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Capture, analyze, and relay retail industry KPIs and lead staff to achieve the goals set for the assigned territory, informed by captured KPIs
- Support senior retail staff with budget planning and forecasting for the territory and control and manage expenses as they directly relate to store operations within the assigned territory, in view of established budget
- Work with Yellowstone Forever leadership team to create a plan for capital improvements and expenditures to ensure that stores within the territory have the correct and most efficient fixtures, lighting, and displays
- Work with the retail merchants to set product layouts per store and work with store leads to deliver on the product distribution and visual merchandising plans in each store
- Develop a firm understanding of the warehouse and logistics operations of Yellowstone Forever and be able to use data analytics through navigation of the retail back-end software systems to handle and track accurate movement of inventory, stock levels, and inventory turns as they relate to each store within the territory
- Be a POS systems expert as it relates to the iPad register screens, software sales systems, and credit card processing equipment and how these systems interact and communicate with each other
- Utilize the cloud based retail system to generate all necessary inventory, sales, COGs, item-turn, clearance, supporter, and other reports to facilitate efforts in accomplishing daily, weekly and annual retail team goals
- Provide training and mentoring to build a core knowledgeable staff that understand our product offerings including divisional programs from the Institute and philanthropy divisions
Work with organizational leadership and park partners to maximize store schedules and ensure appropriate staffing levels and maintain staffing schedules
- Work with the Retail Leads to supervise, direct, and support full-time and seasonal Park Store Associates to ensure their ability to perform tasks as required

Work collaboratively within the Yellowstone Forever organization to ensure that operations within the store are carried out in accordance with Yellowstone Forever’s procedures and standards
Effectively communicate relevant territory related information across the retail division while also communicating department information to the territory staff
Collaborate with Finance staff to submit accurate and complete daily, weekly and monthly reports and ensure proper levels of cash are maintained
Actively greet customers and be familiar with all merchandise in order to assist customers in making purchases
Ensure staff responds to questions about the park by providing accurate information, or when necessary referring visitors to another source
Ensure the active promotion of the Yellowstone Forever Supporter and Institute programs
Develop and motivate staff to achieve optimal performance
Represent Yellowstone Forever and its mission accurately and positively
Foster a collaborative, team-oriented environment with Yellowstone Forever employees, volunteers and partners
- Travel into Yellowstone, throughout the Greater Yellowstone area and other, as required
Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Retail Operations, or other designated leadership
Basic Qualifications:
1-2 years of Multi-unit retail store experience, including use and command of data analytics and systems management
4-5 years of supervisory experience
Experience in Omni-channel retail and distribution
Team player with excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment
Proven ability to quickly learn and apply new systems, processes, and applications
Experience providing excellent customer service.
Self-motivated with a sound approach to problem solving and timely task completion
Ability to sometimes work a flexible schedule, which may include nights, weekends and holidays when needed
Ability to lift boxes/equipment weighing up to 40 pounds (with support of lift equipment)
Ability to represent Yellowstone Forever in a courteous and professional manner
This position involves driving Yellowstone Forever vehicles, therefore applicants must hold and maintain a valid US driver’s license, and maintain a favorable driving record for insurance purposes
A satisfactory criminal background check are conditions of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to supervise a team of employees
POS and retail experience
Experience working in a non-profit environment
Knowledge of Yellowstone National Park
