As Colorado’s premiere Mountain Bike Shop we are looking to add a talented and motivated full time Lead MTB Technician to our growing service department. Golden Bike Shop prides itself on leading the Cycling industry by providing the finest customer experience combined with the most in-depth and detail oriented services.
LEAD MTB TECHNICIAN OVERVIEW - $18-$21per hour depending on levels of experience
Welcomes and works closely with customers to assist in their service needs. Delivers highest level of customer service by efficiently evaluating and scheduling necessary repairs.
Provides comprehensive technical knowledge to customers and makes appropriate service recommendations.
Completes repairs on all types of bicycles, with a focus on full suspension mountain bikes.
Capable of performing expert level services including Wheel building, suspension services on all nitrogen charged components, Chris king ring drive overhauls, rockshox reverb and monarch plus services, tubular tire mounting, etc...
Has an in-depth understanding of suspension products and features. Can provide evaluations of all suspension components and recommend appropriate services and products.
Performs maintenance on company demo fleet
Executes timely and thoughtful follow-up with all service customers.
Engages in technical training to maintain product and repair knowledge.
Provides customers information about warranties, manufacturing specifications, care and maintenance of bikes.
Maintains detailed work orders and service records.
Collaborate with the Service, Marketing, and Inventory Managers.

QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of experience as a professional bicycle mechanic or equivalent technical training
Expert experience in suspension service and wheel building
3+ years experience in a consumer facing customer service environment
Capable of working independently and within a team
Has demonstrated aptitude for problem solving
Possess basic computer skills
Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
SRAM technical university, Barnett Bicycle Institute, S-Tec and other various industry certifications preferred

The team stays proactive with yearly educational training opportunities to remain at the forefront of Mountain Bike Technologies. Our Service Department is paradise for the discriminating bicycle mechanic, featuring 6 full-service bays outfitted with all the finest tools. We experience yearly growth and to accommodate that growth we are constantly expanding. For 2018 our service department added 2 brand new work bays, a dedicated wheel building work station and a state of the art suspension lab.
