Job Description
The Position: Retail Marketing Coordinator

Position Summary:
The Retail Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for the development and management of retail marketing programs to help maximize Black Diamond brand awareness, product sales and profitability via Black Diamond specialty retail partners. The Retail Marketing Coordinator will create and maintain a close partnership with a diverse team that includes the Black Diamond Marketing Department, Black Diamond Retail Store, Sales Department, Climb/Ski/Mountain Category Directors, retail partners, retail staff and outside agency partners.

1. Develop and implement a comprehensive global retail marketing program
a. bi-annual workbook
b. bi-annual sales literature, co-developed with the sales department
c. bi-annual tradeshow graphics
d. visual merchandising program
2. Work directly with project coordination team and agency partners on the production of all Visual Merchandising POS items
3. Coordinate in-store fixturing and presentation with store managers, in-store marketing to enhance visual perspective and traffic/flow and measure performance/effectiveness.
4. Facilitate creative merchandising solutions that are commercially viable and offer a unique store experience.
5. Work with the Marketing Director on various retail marketing special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
Education Required: Bachelor's degree in any discipline

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Merchandising, Marketing, or Business.

Work Experience Required: 2 years in a corporate marketing, retail sales or visual merchandising
Skills and General Experience:
Required: Working knowledge of retail environment, including operations-logistics, marketing and management. Ability to work effectively across disciplines and maintain excellent communication and time management skills. Strong budget management experience. Forward thinking perspective yet flexible to change priorities. High degree of organizational skills, project management skills, attention to detail, and scheduling ability required. Demonstrated ability to work with and positively influence a broad and diverse group toward achieving a mutually agreed upon goal. Should have a positive, energetic working style. Excellent customer relation skills, knowledge of POS systems, typing, tradeshow, sell-in sales collateral production, merchandising, product knowledge, knowledge of and/or participation in climbing, backcountry skiing and mountaineering.

Preferred: Outdoor retail experience with relevant merchandise/buying responsibilities. Experience with packaging & POP materials. Proven ability to build and maintain productive relationships with cross-functional teams. Experience with developing creative processes and production schedules.
