Outdoor Sports Center is a premier specialty outdoor sports retailer located in Wilton, Connecticut. The store is 35,000 square feet and specializes in equipment and related apparel for skiing, snowboarding, backpacking, and camping, technical rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, and biking.
Job Description
Apparel buyer will work onsite in an office environment and will be primarily responsible for two preseason buys for men, women, and children in the specialty outdoor sports apparel arena. Responsibilities include creation of apparel budget, view and place preseason orders, and prepare orders for data entry. Other buying responsibilities in season include fill in and special orders. Apparel inventory management is expected and the necessary computer tools will be provided. Apparel buyer will direct sales floor merchandising and display of apparel and will collaborate with sales staff and graphic designer.
Job Qualifications
Applicants should be hard working, enthusiastic, and resourceful with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Prior apparel buying skills and merchandising experience are preferred. The ideal applicant should possess an understanding of fashion consistent with Outdoor Sports Center business goals, industry trends and opportunities, and be able to make sound buying decisions.
