The Position: Sales Rep for Retail Sales Tracking Services

Leisure Trends Group (LTG) is the industry standard for providing retail market intelligence (retail sales tracking), consumer research, and integrated CRM services to suppliers, retailers, associations, resorts and companies in the sports, recreation, hospitality, travel and entertainment industries.   We track retail sales in the following industries: ski, snowboard, running, cycling, outdoor, paddle sports, scuba dive, performance outerwear, and athletic apparel.  We work hard and play hard and are looking for an experienced professional to add to our team, headquartered in Boulder, CO.  

LTG is searching for a Sales Representative for our Retail Sales Tracking Services.  This is a full-time position as a sales and development specialist for our retail sales tracking and research products.  The core customer group and sales focus are manufacturers of sports-related products but will expand as needed.  This individual will be expected to become part of LTG’s team of retail sales experts and to consult, in addition to business development duties. This individual will be expected to play a key role in developing products to meet the current and future needs of our clients

Essential Functions:

Sales: Provide vision, define and execute a sales strategy for the retail sales tracking business:

  • Analyze current markets for business potential
  • Set sales goals and develop a sales plan to achieve stated goals by industry
  • Service existing clients
  • Develop new business
  • Build awareness of our products in the sports markets through sales and marketing efforts coordinated with the LTG sales team
  • Develop sales leads, call on potential clients, consult with potential clients to define their needs and develop solutions to meet those needs
  • Develop a consulting relationship with current clients and prospects
  • Continued communications with client and analysts to improve the client experience with LTG products
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends in the industries LTG serves
  • Assist in writing monthly news items to generate awareness of LTG’s products
  • Support and expand client relationships across all divisions (consumer research, customer loyalty (CRM), and RetailTRAK
  • Work with prospects and current clients to define their market intelligence information needs

Product Development:

  • Work with RetailTRAK product development team to develop and improve the various products
  • Convey product details and improvements to other sales staff

  • Genuine awareness, appreciation and understanding of the goals and purposes of market research
  • Strategic and tactical thinking skills with entrepreneurial idea generation and creative problem solving
  • Demonstrated success in driving decisions and striving for results
  • A high degree of attention to detail
  • A high degree of self motivation and ability to work as part of a team

Essential Requirements:

  • BA/BS from accredited four-year college or university
  • 5+ years sales/ business development experience
  • Marketing, PR, project management, and other practical business experience
  • Computer Literacy including MS Windows, MS Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Contact management software, database knowledge, email system knowledge, ability to learn new software packages as needed
  • Must be able to communicate with clarity and integrity, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective, professional, and harmonious relationships with supervisors, staff and clients
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills
  • Respect for confidential information
  • Dedication and clear support of the mission/goals/objectives of Leisure Trends Group
