General Position Summary
Position based in Dallas, TX. Assist the Account Manager with most aspects of sales to accounts managed out of the Dallas, TX sales office, including, but not limited to collecting and analyzing retail sales data, assortment planning, visual marketing and co-op advertising, managing showroom and customer samples, and order file management. This position will be a key liaison between Columbia customer service and the key account buying staff.
Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities
Collect, compile, and evaluate key account retail sales data each week for review with Key Account Manager.
Manage order file to assure on time and complete delivery to the customer by working closely with Columbia customer service and customer buying staff. Includes order entry, monitoring order allocation and assignment, tracking of shipments, and communicating order status to the customer, as well as securing order extensions as needed.
Assist Key Account Manager with account specific marketing programs, including co-op advertising and store level visual marketing. Manage co-op accruals and credits and secure ad proofs for pre-approval by Columbia. Assist with coordinating in-store visual programs with visual merchandising team and accounts.
Assist Key Account Manager in developing seasonal assortment plans.
Research and assist with disputed chargeback resolutions.
Manage office sample lines as well as account sample requests. Maintain inventory status on showroom samples, enter and track customer sample orders.
Develop strong partnerships with Columbia sales, planning, operations, customer service, merchandising (product and visual).
Assist in maintaining strong relationships with customers.
Specific Job Skills:
Possess knowledge of retail industry. Ideal candidate will have experience working for or with department store buying offices, and have a thorough understanding of retail math and associated retail analysis. Require knowledge of sales representative responsibilities and retail sales reporting and analysis. Ability to read, write, and speak English. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word. Applicant must possess excellent organizational and time management skills. Attention to detail required. Ability to conduct interpersonal interactions with buying staff and other company personnel. Ability to operate independently and follow general guidelines. Physical ability to use telephone, computer hardware/software including keyboard, type, sit and stand for extended periods of time. Assist Key Account Manager with maintaining sample line (including unpacking, hanging and repacking samples).
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelors degree or equivalent specializing in Retail Sales or Business marketing / Management. Three to five years experience in the apparel retail or apparel sales industries.
Job Conditions:
Job requires reporting to an office for 40 hours per week during specific office hours. Exposure to a computer CRT (laptop).
